Just what exaclty was the coach trying to accomplish?
Florida State All-American Buster Posey played all nine positions Monday in the Seminoles’ 10-0 baseball victory against Savannah State and had an impact everywhere he went.
Posey began Monday’s game at catcher and worked his way around the infield in the next four innings. He played left field and center in the sixth. He struck out the first two men in the seventh and completed his tour in right field.
Savannah State interim coach Emanuel Wheeler had no problem with it. “It’s baseball,” Wheeler said. “If the kid has the ability to play all the positions, why not?”
Posey is the first Seminole to pull off the feat since Mike Martin Jr., son of head coach Mike Martin, did it in 1994.
