Dudes, this just goes to show you how important protection is. What kind of cup was Chris Snyder wearing? I won’t wear it. As men, we have a right to know
so that we don’t make the same mistake Chris did.

I find most cups are too small for me, but wear them anyway. Cup UP! I cup up even with a friends/family or college game as you never know when you will be hit in the sweet spot and there’s no way I’m going to be on a televised “funny video.” But seriously, there IS NO PAIN WORSE AND NO MAN WANTS SURGERY DOWN UNDER. I wear 2 cups as a hockey goalie and getting hit there hurts just as much as when it happened to me in baseball. I think there is only so much protection you can create down there without creating some sort of force field.

If he hadn’t been wearing a cup he would have been carted off by EMTs, not finishing the game.

Can we have some sort of “Get Well” card for Chris Snyder? I think all of us know that some nasty pain can be associated with blows to the testicles…but “breaking” one has just gotten on to the list of my “it could happen” type of fears.

I was at the game and when he was hit he did the hands on the knees thing all hunched over for about two minutes. We all thought he had been hit in the thigh and received a severe dead leg because we figured the cup had protected him. After reading this article, I now know the crazy part is HE KEPT PLAYING!

If I remember right, Paul Moyer of the Seattle Seahawks ruptured a testicle (not sure which side – weak or strong) during a game. Because it was football, he stayed in the game.
