Manny Ramirez “No Deal” To Dodgers Second Offer

ramirezManny Ramirez has decided to open a few more cases-telling Dodgers GM Ned Colletti “No Deal”!

Various baseball news sources are now reporting that free agent outfielder Manny Ramirez received a second offer from the Dodgers on Monday, possibly worth a whopping 1-year $25MM. It is also being reported that the slugger and agent Scott Boras almost immediately rejected the offer.

According to ESPN’s Jayson Stark, the pair were given only 48-hours to formulate a decision. The second offer comes to Manny after he declined the previous offer made back in November which was said to be worth 2-years and $45M. A shorter length contract may have not been what Manny expected, as we move closer and closer to spring training.

Agent Scott Boras and the rumors that continue to swirl around the duo, have told baseball officials that Manny is still drawing interest from “multiple clubs”.

Miguel Salcido reports that Manny recently hit .396 with 17 homers and 53 RBIs in 53 games for Dodgers and  carried the team into the playoffs last year. Sure he has a checkered past and has proven to be quite juvenile, but it is apparent that all he wants is to be respected for his talents and acknowledged.

Harold Reynolds of ESPN and MLB Network notes that what Manny has done in the past is nowhere close to as criminal as what so many other players have done on and off the field! Manny just attracts attention because of his electric personality and bat.
